About Me
Let me take a moment to introduce myself. My name is JoLynn Powell, the kids always call me Mrs. JoLynn. This is my third year of teaching and I can't even express how excited I am to work with your kids. I have been a paraprofessional for 10 years working with students from severe and profound to autism. As a paraprofessional, I received the June Downing Paraprofessional of the Year in the state of Arizona. I have also received the paraprofessional of the year award from the Vail School District. I have always loved what I do and made the decision with my family to move to the next step and become a teacher. I am currently still working on my Special Education degree with Western Governors University. I am excited to share with your children and yourselves all that I am learning. I am from Orem, Utah. My husband and I moved to Tucson, Arizona for 13 years and we just moved back to Utah about four years ago. I have five beautiful children who are very important to me. My oldest daughter Veronica is attending Weber State as a Senior this year. My son Ian will be a Junior at Weber State University. I have a Senior at Cedar Valley High School named Samantha. I have two girls Paige in tenth grade and Eryn in ninth that will be also be at Cedar Valley High School. I have two dogs as well, and a new cat. So my life is busy and I love it. When I am not being a mom or at school, I am making earrings or curled up reading a good book, that's not a text book. I want to be that teacher that knows her students and their families. So please if you could take a few minutes and send me an email, introducing yourself and your student this would be great. If you could in the email, let me know what you have seen motivates your student and what makes your student special. You are the one that knows your child the best so please share your knowledge. If you could also express if they have any diet restrictions or allergies. I know that things change through the year so please let's keep a open communication and give me updates good or bad. Hey, life is always changing and I want to make sure that my classroom is a safe place for your child. Please feel free to contact me anytime. I check my email throughout the day and will get back to you ASAP. [email protected] |
